And for January 2, 2009 (caught up at last!) From my cactus studies. We are fortunate in having a saguaro cactus in our yard. They are protected and are very valuable. The symbol of the American West, I love my saguaro. It only has 3 little bitty arms but it is over 100 years old before it starts to get arms. They weigh thousands of pounds because they are filled with water. So, here is a cactus pic for you. The other plants, from the bottom up are: yucca, bougainvillea and Ironwood tree.
