CATTLE IN THE DESERT...

We were driving through the desert near our home in Arizona and came upon this steer, just wandering around, no fencing at all.  Arizona is a free range state.  That means that the cattle have free range of the state.  They can go anywhere and you can't do anything to harm them.  Just place a call to the local rancher and he will send out a couple of cowboys to round up the cattle and get them back to the ranch they belong to.  There was once a steer that wandered into our neighborhood and that's exactly what happened.  They cowboys came and took to poor thing away.  I'd have loved to have seen that, but we weren't in town then.

It's amazing how each state has their own laws and unique situations.
